We had planned to do a year of charity events in 2020 to celebrate and raise money for Make-A-Wish UK. We didn’t manage to complete all of them but we still managed to raise a whopping £16k which also included £8k just from the party night.

I thought it best that I give you an update of when and what we are allowed to do over the next few months so here is the official TMFIT Roadmap to our return!
Phase 1) Monday 29th March Outside training allowed for groups of up to six people. We will therefore be running a number of small group outside training sessions and I have attached the 7 week timetable below. We will run these through the Easter School holidays except Easter Friday and Monday.
In order to service all our loyal clients we will be adding more sessions to our normal timetable so that no one misses out. Each session will last for 50 minutes so we can facilitate the increased number of classes.
Our new outside canopy will combat the wind, rain and sun and we will also bring some of the cardiovascular equipment outside to give plenty of variation.
Outside one-to-one Personal Training will also be available from the 29th March.
7 Week Outside Training Timetable

The cost per class for the 7 week course is £70 (£60 if training on a Monday or Friday, due to the Easter bank holidays). Please confirm your preferred class/es asap.
We will continue to run a smaller number of online HIIT sessions priced at £6.50 per session, per household. (£45.50 per session for the term).
Phase 2) Monday 12th April One-to-one Personal Training is allowed inside.
Phase 3) Monday 17th May Inside Group Training Classes can restart under social distancing guidelines. We will have enough training areas to cope with the restrictions so we should be able to go back to our pre-covid timetable and back to 1 hour group training sessions.
Phase 4) Monday 21st June All restrictions lifted. Hopefully!
As I'm sure you can understand, it has been very hard to work out a plan that will accommodate everyone's wishes. We would love to be in a position to run more online classes but we just haven't got the capacity to do both.

Foam rolling is a self-myofascial release technique, basically a self-sports massage!It can help relieve muscle tightness, soreness, inflammation and increase your joint range of motion. They are cheap to buy and I believe it is a very effective tool to add to your warm-up or cooldown, before and after exercise. TMFIT was due to celebrate it's 10 year anniversary by hosting a number of fundraising events throughout 2020, in support of Make-A-Wish foundation and to help fund some life-changing wishes for critically ill children.
We were very passionate about completing the ten different events we had planned but due to Covid we were only able to complete a few of them before the first lock-down.
Even so, with the unbelievable help from our members, we still managed to raise the £3,696 needed to help a young lady called Bethany, who has a rare and progressive condition called H-ABC, get her wish to go to 'Give Kids the World' in Disneyland Florida. Unfortunately, Bethany's wish has had to be postponed due to Covid but an alternative date or wish will be arranged.
The remainder of our fundraising has gone towards a Wish for a 12 year old boy called Tai from Braintree to go to Lapland. Tai was diagnosed with very severe Aplastic Anaemia (Bone marrow failure). He survived on regular blood and platelet transfusions until he received his life saving bone marrow transplant in 2019. His Wish has now been confirmed and re-booked for the 1st - 3rd December 2021. We are thrilled about this and hope he has an amazing time!
Understandably, Covid has had a huge impact on the finances of the charity sector and given the economic outlook, this is not likely to be a short-term hit. It quickly became evident to Make-A-Wish that they needed to move at speed to ensure that as much money as possible continues to go to the children who are waiting for a wish, and to establish a smaller, restructured organisation to secure the charity's future. They have now completed this process and as a result they had to make 31 redundancies.
Therefore they need our help more than ever and we will continue to support Make-A-Wish Foundation and press-on with organising new, covid-safe, fundraising events. We have set ourselves a target of £10,000 to reach and we are currently on £4,225.
Hopefully this extra fundraising will help grant Wishes to children like Adam who was diagnosed with cancer just before he turned six. A cancerous 10cm tumor was detected and Adam was diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma in his bowel. Following surgery to remove the tumor, a complication resulted in another emergency operation. It was touch-and go, but Adam pulled through. He is now all smiles and has asked that his Wish is to meet the Manchester United football player, Marcus Rashford.
